| SECTION H REGULATIONS FOR MEMBERS FLYING 1 Medical Certificates Before flying solo, a member must be in possession of a current medical certificate in accordance with DCI S63/75 (as amended) unless he/she is current aircrew. The certificate is to state his/her fitness to glide. The medical certificate itself should be retained in the owner's log book. 2 Log Books Each member is to maintain an accurate record of flights made and their times in an official log book which may be obtained from the club. All members are to have their log books with them when reporting for flying. Log Books are to be made available to the CFI on request at regular intervals, or on demand for inspection by any instructor and should be with each member every flying day. 3 Discipline All instructions given by the Duty Instructor are to be obeyed. 4 Authorisation Authorisation for flights in club gliders will be verbal. No member may fly as pilot in charge of a club aircraft until an authorised Club Instructor has approved the Flight. 5 Trial Lessons No member is to carry out trial lessons or give any instruction in club gliders unless the CFI has certified him/her to do so. The minimum qualification is Basic Instructor. 6 Operation of Club Vehicles No member is to operate any club equipment unless he/she holds a current driving licence and/or has received training. All such members are expected to take their fair share of winching and cable retrieving. 7 Powered Aircraft Members are to take particular care to avoid the propeller area of powered aircraft AT ALL TIMES. When ground handling the Falke do not pick up the tail with the engine running! 8 Other Activities All members are expected to take part in the various activities for which they are qualified, as listed in the various sections and annexes of these orders. 9 Insurance Non-Service personnel are strongly advised to take out personal insurance against accidental injury or death resulting from gliding activities. Instructors should consider insuring against personal claims. |
