SECTION G 
ORDERS FOR THE DUTY PILOT

The duty pilot is responsible to the duty instructor for assisting in the organisation of gliding operations.

a. The duty Pilot is to establish two-way radio contact with LARNACA ATC on 121.2 MHZ and advise them that flying is about to commence.

b. Prior to each launch The Duty Pilot must inform Larnaca by two-way radio contact of his intention to launch.

c. Flights wishing to climb above 1000ft must be declared to Larnaca by radio contact as in (a)

d. A mobile phone is to be available for use by The Duty Pilot in case of Radio failure.

2 The duty pilot is not to fly or leave the launch point without first obtaining permission from the duty instructor.
 
3 The duty pilot's decision(s) may only be overruled by: 
a. CFI 
b. Duty instructor 
c. Another instructor 

4 In the case of a. or c. the duty instructor is to be informed. 

5 The duty pilot is to report anyone disregarding or interfering with the running of the gliding operation to the CFI or duty instructor immediately.
