The Air Training Corps,
No 1 (Overseas) Squadron is an aviation orientated youth organisation.
The aims of the Air Training Corps are:
To promote and encourage among young people a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force.
To provide training which will be useful in the Services and civilian life.
To foster the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership and good
citizenship.
If you are aged between 13 and 18 and would like to mix with people in your own age group- who exp ct something extra out of
life then read on. Would you like to participate in: 2 Weeks Summer
Camp, Water skiing Shooting, Radio Communications, Go Karting, Rock Climbing, Airmanship and
the ultimate thrill - Flying? Then come and talk to the Air Training Corps.
You will get a chance to learn these skills and
many more, and be rewarded for it too! You can
become a First Class, Leading, Senior or Staff Cadet, Corporal, Sergeant, Flight Sergeant or a
Cadet Warrant Officer. We all meet each Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6.30pm until 9.00pm,
at the ATC Squadron Headquarters next to the Lightning Aircraft at RAF
Akrotiri.
During your time with the ATC you will have the opportunity to meet many new challenges. These new experiences will help you to develop a breadth of skills and abilities that will be useful in adult life such as, decision-making, using your initiative, and physical and mental stamina. Most importantly you will learn how to work with other cadets as a member of a team.
Whatever the activity, our experienced instructors keep a watchful eye on safety at all times.
Please note that many activities are restricted to cadets of certain ages or to those who have reached a specific level of training. |
